HUFFPOST FUNDRACE - Super PAC Oops

HUFFPOST FUNDRACE - Super PAC Oops

Oops... The pro-Mitt Romney super PAC accidentally leaked an anti-Newt Gingrich ad onto the web last night. The ad is a brutal take down of the former Speaker of the House that features nearly every line of attack brought up against Gingrich in the past few months save for his multiple affairs, divorces, and marriages. [HuffPost]

They may like Mitt Romney, but they have to support Rick Perry. Texas-based donors to Perry don't want to cross their powerful governor in his floundering presidential bid, so they're waiting for him to drop out before they give to another candidate. [ABC]

Michele Bachmann dropped by a donor cultivation event for the Legacy Political Fund, which is founded and chaired by Rick Perry's biggest bundler, George Seay III. As HuffPost's Christina Wilkie writes, "For Perry, this has to sting, right? When your top bundler and your rival meet with rich evangelical Christian conservatives without you?"

Elizabeth Warren hits back against the Rove-backed Crossroads GPS for their most recent attack ads claiming that Warren is a softie on the banks. [HuffPost]

HuffPost's tally of the air war in Massachusetts continues thanks to Boston Patch, who have been keeping track of the ad buys for us.

Elizabeth Warren (D) Support: $417,655 Oppose: $357,422
Scott Brown (R) Support: None recorded yet. Oppose: $1,122,115

Newt Gingrich always finds a way to make a buck. He's using his campaign to do it too. [NYT]

A third party with no candidate that is secretly funded by Wall Street billionaires. That's exactly what the American people are looking for! [Salon]

The best parodies of the Rick Perry anti-gay ad. You know you want to watch them.

Majority PAC, the Democratic super PAC backing Senate candidates, threw $281,068 at more campaign ads to support Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) for reelection.

Committee: Restore Our Future
Candidate opposed: Newt Gingrich
Spot: "Smiling" -- Why is Barack Obama smiling? That's the question this accidentally leaked ad from the pro-Mitt Romney super PAC seeks to answer in this biting ad. The answer is that Newt Gingrich looks like he might win the GOP nomination and he's got a lot of baggage. The spot then goes into a recitation of negatives stories about Gingrich including taking money from Freddie Mac and health care companies, supporting a national health care mandate, favoring "amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants," and cutting a commercial with Nancy Pelosi on climate change.
