Oops... The pro-Mitt Romney super PAC accidentally leaked an anti-Newt Gingrich ad onto the web last night. The ad is a brutal take down of the former Speaker of the House that features nearly every line of attack brought up against Gingrich in the past few months save for his multiple affairs, divorces, and marriages. They may like Mitt Romney, but they have to support Rick Perry. Texas-based donors to Perry don't want to cross their powerful governor in his floundering presidential bid, so they're waiting for him to drop out before they give to another candidate. [ABC]
Michele Bachmann dropped by a donor cultivation event for the Legacy Political Fund, which is founded and chaired by Rick Perry's biggest bundler, George Seay III. The answer is that Newt Gingrich looks like he might win the GOP nomination and he's got a lot of baggage. The spot then goes into a recitation of negatives stories about Gingrich including taking money from Freddie Mac and health care companies, supporting a national health care mandate, favoring "amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants," and cutting a commercial with Nancy Pelosi on climate change.
